Placement alternative for UNAVCO GPS instrument
PARI's North Ridge appears to be the best alternative for placement of a UNAVCO GPS instrument. These pictures show a transit on the ridge. It is sitting on the top. Bedrock is approximtely 4 inches from the surface soil. The scope on the transit is 5 feet from the ground. Measurements were taken 360 degrees to identify all locations where the sight line is above 15 degrees from horizon. There are four clusters of trees that block a view above 15 degrees. PARI will remove these trees in order to have a 360 degree unobstructed view of the sky above 15 degrees off the horizon.
