PARI at 2008 United Way Annual Meeting

The 2008 annual meeting of the Transylvania County United Way was held on Tuesday, February 26th at the Transylvania County Library. Dave Clavier and Christi Whitworth represented PARI at the event.

PARI Staff at Western Regional Science Fair

Mike Castelaz and Christi Whitworth attended the February 13-14, 2008 Western Regional Science Fair at Western Carolina University. They presented PARI Awards for Astronomy in three categories to: Shelby Bennett from Old Fort Elementary School for her project on Light Pollution; Vanessa Phuong from Fairview Elementary School for her project entitled, "The All Amazing Albedo!" and Scott Dinsmore from Hendersonville High School for his project, "Does Magnetism Affect Plant Growth."

Don, Jo and Dave Attend the Transylvania Parternship Annual Meeting

Don and Jo Cline along with Dave Clavier attended the annual meeting of the Tranyslvania Partnership, the not-for-profit organization supporting economic development in Transylvania County, on Thursday evening, August 23rd at the Brevard Music Center. At the event, they had a chance to talk with several PARI supporters including Congressman Heath Shuler, State Senator John Snow, State Representative Trudi Walend and others.

GTCC 6th Annual North Carolina Astronomy Meeting

PARI staff presented at the 6th Annual North Carolina Astronomy Meeting at GTCC in Greensboro on September 28-29. This event also commemorated the 10th anniversary of the Cline Observatory at GTCC.

Dave Clavier attends NCTA National Leaders Symposium in Washington

While attending the North Carolina Technology Association's National Leaders Symposium on September 18th and 19th, Dave Clavier met with Congressman Heath Shuler, Congressman Shuler's Legislative Director Sean O'Brien and other staff members. He also me with other North Carolina business leaders and Congressional delegation. He attended a reception at the Canadian Embassy.

PARI Attends NCTA Annual Meeting

Don and Joe Cline and Dave Clavier attended the 2008 annual meeting of the North Carolina Technology Association in Cary, NC on Friday, January 25th. The guest speaker was Bob Young, Chairman of Lulu Enterprises. We had the chance to visit with many of our friends from Cisco, SAS, EMC, Microsoft, K3 Enterprise, I-Can and other great organizations.
