PARI Picks Up Microdensitometers Donated from NASA and STSci
During the week of March 24-29, 2008 Don Cline, Dave Clavier and Ben Goldsmith went to Baltimore to pick up two microdensitomers being donated to PARI by NASA and the Space Telescope Science Institute (STSci). Dozens of STSci staff assisted Don, Dave, Ben and IPD Tech President Larry Avril safely pack and load the equipment for the move to its new home at PARI. George Rockstroh's crew from Baltimore Rigging Company did a great job of moving the Microdensitometers from STSci. PARI staff did an equally good job of unloading the machines and other equipment.
PARI Team Visits the NRAO at Green Bank, West Virginia
Don and Jo Cline along with Dave Clavier visited the National Radio Astronomy Observatory (NRAO) in Green Bank, West Virginia on Monday, August 27, 2007. While at NRAO they delivered a copy of the "Observing the Radio Sky" StarLab cylinder to Education Director Sue Ann Heatherly. NRAO's Electronics Engineer Roger Norrod gave the team a tour of the site. PARI also accepted the donation of several feeds to be used on PARI's 26 Meter Telescopes.
SAS Institute Meeting at the SAS World Headquarters
On Tuesday, July 17, 2007 SAS Institute, Inc. Education Practice General Manager Kathy Lee and Education Specialist Caroline McCullen met with representatives from PARI at their world headquarters in Cary, NC. Don Cline and David Clavier were joined by Avant Communicaitons President John Avant and by North Carolina Technology Association (NCTA) Education Foundation Project Director Jamai Blivin.
