In response to a growing concern that astronomy's rich heritage of historic photographic observations is in danger of becoming lost, a Workshop "To Develop a National Plan for Preserving Astronomical Photographic Data" will be held on November 1-3, 2007 at Pisgah Astronomical Research Institute (PARI) in Rosman, NC.

The Workshop will focus on (1) documenting the scientific and historical rationale for preserving these data, (2) evaluating the processes at the national repository now located at PARI, and (3) establishing an operational plan to ensure the preservation of plate collections.  Details can be read on the PARI webpage (http://www.PARI.edu).
