Visiting PARI
Join us on the second Friday of each month for an Evening at PARI. The evening includes a tour of PARI, a talk about recent events in astronomy, and if the weather is clear, we also plan to setup optical telescopes to view the planets, Moon, and other celestial objects.
Scheduled Public Tours of PARI
Wednesday Afternoon at 2 PM
Call for Reservations: 828-862-5554.
PARI is pleased to offer public tours of our facility on most Wednesday afternoons at 2 PM. Reservations are necessary and can be made by calling 828-862-5554. The tours last about 1.5 hours. There is a nominal fee of $5.00 per person with no charge for children under 10. Driving time to the site from downtown Brevard is about 25 minutes. Maps and directions can be found here. We think you will find the tours both educational and entertaining. The visit features a guided tour of our PARI's Galaxy Walk.
If you wish to volunteer , the periodic Volunteer Weekends are a perfect way to see the site and contribute to astronomy, science, and technology efforts at PARI. Please contact Christi Whitworth, via email at cwhitworth@pari.edu, for details on how to join the Volunteer List. In order to plan our tasks more efficiently, we must insist that you email or phone no later than 24 hours before a Volunteer Weekend to let us know if you will be able to attend and help.
Space Day is PARI's annual open house to allow the general public to observe the many exciting programs that are underway on campus. The next Space Day at PARI will be on Saturday, May 3, 2008. Click PHOTOS to see pictures of the 2007 Space Day. Look for updates about Space Day plans on the PARI website.
Except for our scheduled events, PARI is not open to the public. For a modest fee we can make arrangements for your group to visit our campus. If you have questions about visiting or touring PARI, review our rate sheet for applicable fees and contact us by e-mail at info@pari.edu or contact our site administrator at dclavier@pari.edu or (828) 966-4097.
