Homeschool Day at PARI

PARI holds Homeschool Day twice a year, in the spring and fall. Register and learn more about the next Homeschool Day at PARI, Friday, May 2, 2008.


The Pisgah Astronomical Research Institute (PARI) is continuing its series of events for homeschoolers with an all-new educational experience.  Our astronomers and educators have designed age-appropriate (K-2, 3-5, 6-8 and 9-12) modules on the theme of planetary atmospheres. The next Homeschool Day at PARI is Friday, May 2, 2008.


Where: 
PARI is located outside of Rosman, NC approximately a half-hour drive from Brevard.  Directions to campus are available online

Cost:
$10 per student.  No charge for parents/chaperones.

Registration: SORRY. CLASSES ARE FULL 
Registration must be made in advance by completing the Homeschool Day at PARI Registration Form and mailing in the registration fee.  All programs are limited to 25 students exclusive of parents/chaperones.  Registration is on a first-come-first-served basis.

Parents/Chaperones: 
All students must be accompanied by a responsible parent/chaperone.  If you have more than one child in your family/group who are in different grade level groups and will be going to different programs at the same time, you must have a parent/chaperone for the child(ren) going to each program.  Groups must have at least one parent/chaperone for each four students.  Parents are encouraged to attend the sessions with their children.  Please, do NOT bring children not participating in these programs; please make other arrangements for younger or older siblings.

Lunch: 
Please bring “brown bag” lunches for the lunch break.  No lunch will be served at PARI.  However, soft drinks, tea, etc. will be made available in the cafeteria (Building 29).  Trash cans will be provided and each family/group is requested clean up its area.

Restrooms: 
Restrooms are available in all buildings where activities occur.

Accessibility: 
All facilities are handicap accessible.

Break: 
Participants are encouraged to attend all the programs for which they are registered.  However, there will be a break area in the cafeteria (Building 29).   All children in the break area must be accompanied by a parent/chaperone as indicated above.
