POWER & REDUNDANCY

Power is provided via underground conduit duct banks to the point of installation.
Electric feeders are generator protected at full load. The generator is conﬁgured to take the load after 30 seconds, with the ability to run over 24 hours without refueling.
Fuel and fuel transfer capabilities are located on-site to keep the generators running for extended periods. If requested, multi-generator redundancy can be provisioned to most instruments.

BROADBAND & SECURITY

Fiber optic connectivity is available to multiple service providers over multiple physically-separate routes.
Security is provided with RFID key cards, 24/7 stored video surveillance, and a full alarm system with multiple alarm communication paths.

HOSTINGS

NASA operates an all-sky camera on the PARI campus that is part of the Fireballs Network, which looks for meteorites and tracks their trajectories.
Georgia Tech University monitors lighting from the PARI campus as part of an online long-term study.
As part of the National Science Foundation’s EARTHSCOPE project, UNAVCO has installed a highly sensitive GPS sensor on the PARI campus to measure geologic movements in the Earth’s crust. This instrument was one of the ﬁrst east of the Rocky Mountains in the UNAVCO network.
Clemson University’s upper atmospheric wind detector, the Clemson Fabry Perot Interferometer, measured high velocity winds and temperatures in the thermosphere.
PARI hosts an antenna for the Motus Wildlife Tracking System.
Real-time air quality is monitored and reported to the PurpleAir network.
